Walking and hiking in Orton Bradley

There are 25 km of walking tracks winding their way through the property, with the ability to link up to the track up Mt Herbert (the highest point on Banks Peninsula) and around the crater rim to Akaroa. Our tracks are designed for all ages and abilities. The famous Rhododendron walk, a flat track set amidst a sea of colour and perfume is great for strollers. The new Faulkner’s Track takes you up to the DOC Packhorse Hut and on to Gebbies Pass. The Waterfall Gully Track takes you through native bush to a fabulous destination, the longer Tablelands track loops back to the Valley Floor Track.

The bridge below Big Rock is closed awaiting replacement. This bridge accessed the Big Rock and Magnificent Gully tracks. The detour follows the river up past Big Rock to the new metal bridge. Cross this bridge for the Magnificent Gully and Big Rock tracks which will now be accessed from the track behind Big Rock.

ENTRANCE FEE

As we are a private park, there is an entrance fee to enter the park. The entrance fee helps to maintain the tracks, buildings and other attractions within the park. Your co-operation is much appreciated.

The entrance fee is $5 per adult, $1 per child, to a maximum of $10 per car load.

WE ARE A DOG FREE ZONE

Due to Orton Bradley Park being a working farm, and also hosting many young children, we do not allow dogs on the property. There are kennels available for use at the entrance booth.
